Remington 1917 Bayonet in good condition. My father picked this up from a farm sale in about 1980. Unfortunately it did not come with a scabbard. (And oddly enough, there was no firearm in that sale that could use a 1917 bayonet, but I digress.)
The pictures give a good overview of the condition. The parkerizing on the blade and hilt is largely complete, the grips do not appear worn. I would point out the tarnishing on the blade, both left and right side, about 5\" from the tip as depicted in the photos. That has been there since we got it. I could not get a good reproduction of it in the photos. It is not corroded, the blade is still smooth where the tarnishing is and it is actually semi-glossy. It looks similar to the stain cosmoline can sometimes leave.
Beyond wiping the blade down every once in awhile, no effort has made to restore or refinish it.
The edge is still parkerized, it does not appear any sharpening attempt was ever made after it was manufactured.
