I\'m selling a great tin friction Hot Rod Century with its original box, made by Nomura (T.N.) of Japan. The hot rod measures 7 inches or 18 centimeters long and it is complete and all original. It is in excellent, very lightly played with condition and comes complete with its original box. The race car has bright vivid paint that has a couple of scratches, but overall is in great shape, The chrome trim is bright and shiny. The friction motor works but it does skip somewhat in forward, it works great in reverse. There is a popping sound that accompanies the piston movement. The pistons are supposed to move back and forth in a seesaw like fashion and they do but they seem a little stiff to me. The friction motor works the best if you are holding the hot rod in the air, on the ground, it works less well. The tires and hubcaps are very nice as is the base. The original box is in very good condition. It is a great looking box, with really nice graphics and colors. There is a small tape repair on the inside of the box and there is some overall wear to the box but it really in nice, not perfect, condition. This is a very good version of a classic tin friction hot rod. Nomura made a lot of variations on this hot rod including a \"Rock and Roll\" battery operated version with a driver. This hot rod is listed but not shown on age 155 of the great Big Book of Tin Toy Cars Commercial and Racing Vehicles.Thanks for looking!!!
