DESCRIPTION:

This sale is for a wonderful, desirable and extra rare 1961 OFFICIAL NEW YORK TITANS YEARBOOK issued by the Titans and as sold at the POLO GROUNDS. Titans were renamed Jets in 1963 under new ownership group led by Sonny Werblin and moved to Shea Stadium in 1964. This first-ever team Yearbook produced in small numbers for the Titans by noted publisher Big League Books. A terrific historical keepsake and great investment!
1961 Titans were coached by HOF QB Sammy Baugh finished at 7-7-0, 3rd in AFL East. QB Al Dorow and FB Bill Mathis were standouts in this, the AFL 2nd season. An outstanding Yearbook! The ultimate historic yearbook documenting this Pro Football start-up.
