Fine quality rare antique peridot & diamond set mourning ring,measures UK size K,US size 5 1/4 & weighs approx 2.8 gms.The centre stone is peridot coloured but I do not know if if it is a natural peridot or paste,it measures 8 mm x 7 mm,it is in good antique condition with some small scratches & rubbing to the edges of the facets commensurate with age,the two rose cut diamonds on the shoulders are silver set & have been tested with an electronic diamond tester.The black enamelled shank of the ring bears the inscription John Hall OB 18;Oct 1729 AET 43,the enamel is in remarkable condition for a ring that is 287 years old,there are no hallmarks but the ring is at least 18ct gold.
