You are offerding on an old antique German Christmas Tree Stand that rotates and plays music.
Feather trees were usually used in these stands, as the inside diameter where the trunk goes measures about 2 inches in diameter.
The base of the stand is large, measuring about 14 inches in diameter.
The music box plays two different Christmas Songs: Silent Night and Oh How Joyfully.
“Silent Night” sounds wonderful, but “Oh How Joyfully” is a little twangy.
You can turn the music off and have the tree turn without the music, or
You can have music when the tree turns.
The key is used to wind the music/tree turner, and is also used to tighten the screws to hold the tree.
The tree stand was probably made by J.C. Eckardt, but we’re not sure.
