We are listing for your consideration alovely Antique 19th Century Stoneware Southern Pottery Alkaline Glaze 3 Gallon Ovoid Storage Jar Crock. This crock is in Excellent Condition with some minor roughness or surface chipping to the one handle and some minor manufactured surface splits just above thebase on the one side. There are no other chips, cracks, and or repairs. The crock is guaranteed 100% secure and we guarantee you will be more than happy with the excellent condition. The crock measures 13 1/2\" tall x 6 3/8\"at the top rim x 10 1/4\" wide x 7 1/4\" at the base and weighs approximately 8lb 9oz. The crock has a wonderful dark alkaline glaze with hints of iridescent purplein spots both on the outside and on the inside. Very unique coloring that most likely happened during the firing. The crock is marked with a hand inscribed 3 below the one handle. Very thin walled where you can see all of the potter wheel rings both inside and outside. Slight thin hand tooled handles, ahand tooled slightly flared top rim, &a great ovoid shape to this crock. We believe it is southern possibly South Carolina or Georgia and dates from the early to mid 1800\'s. Great unique glaze coloring to this wonderful southern pottery 3 gallon storage jar.
