Description: A rare Pre-Pro Beer, Ale or Porter Bottle, New York State origin, ca.1880-1900. Champagne form with applied Blob Top finish; blown in a vibrant, Emerald Green glass. Embossed slug plate mold reads: JOHN STANTON BREWING CO. / TRADE [JS Monogram Logo] MARK / TROY, N.Y. Stanton took over the large "Collar City" brewery operated by Abraham Nash around 1880. Condition: Expected surface wear and minor interior residue consistent with age, use and handling, as shown; otherwise Very Good to Excellent with strong color and embossing. Several air and ash inclusions noted throughout. There is a pinhead-size surface burst noted below the "N" in N.Y. (see close-up, photo #8). No chips, cracks or repaired damage. Displays brilliantly; a highly south-after color and Stanton variant that will feature prominently in any collection of 19thC. Breweriana. The winning buyer will not be disappointed with this Keeper.
