This is a beautiful Georgian ring dating to the late 18th century.It is set with three Almandine garnets and three tiny seed pearls they are flanked with etched scrolling shoulder details. The pearls and Almandine garnets are claw set. The pearls are lustrous with a silver/grey hue- they are very attractive. There is plaited blonde hair behind shaped glass to the reverse. The gold has been tested with jeweller\'s acid as 15 carat or higher. It is usual for rings of this age not to be marked and it is also usual for the gold content not to fit neatly into a carat measurement. This ring comes in the original leather clad jeweller\'s box- it is in very fresh condition and is marked \'Frisch & Schierwater, 29, Church St. Liverpool.The size is a UK O or US size 7 1/4.This is a genuine 18th century piece and is fresh to the market. I purchased it from an sale in Wales- it had come straight from a private collection. I am selling a second 18th century ring this week- please take a look.
