This necklace has classically shaped links with paste stones that are made to simulate Emeralds. The chain at the back of the necklace was added at some point to lengthen the necklace, most likely some links were lost at some point. There have been quite a few repairs to the connecting loops, there are some solder spots and it looks like the connecting loops were completely re-done on some links. Some of the connecting links were not repaired finely - so the links do not connect at the exact right spots to make the necklace align perfectly. Having said that this is noticeable mainly on inspection when the necklace is laid out flat and not as the piece is worn. My guess is that this necklace was repaired at several different times in its life. The links are quite thin, at 4mm at their thickest point, so the necklace lays very flush along your neck when worn. There is surface wear to the paste, scuffing and some pitting which dulls their glimmer and sheen a bit. There is one link that has a significant crack and chip to the corner (you can see it in one of the photos) but the paste still feels secure in the setting. There are no other chips to the stones - just scratching and dulling to the surface. Having said that the paste is still a very vibrant and rich green color that still has lots of shimmer and refraction.The stone in the clasp is foiled and it has dropped into the setting a bit and is a little crooked but it is noticeable mainly on close inspection and the stone still sparkles brightly. Overall this is a sparkling and colorful, Georgian Emerald paste necklace, that is in fair condition.
