ANTIQUE GEORGIAN GOLD & GARNET MEMENTO MORI PENDANT ~PAINTED MINIATURE OF SKULL

We have on offer this antique Georgian 9 carat gold pendant with foil set almandine garnets surrounding a miniature painting of skull and crossbones( looks to be painting on a natural wafer)under crystal glass. The back of the pendant has a painted coronet above the initials under crystal glass. The pendant is unmarked but has been tested for minimum 9 carat gold. The pendant measures 28mm by 16mm or 1 1/8\'\' by 5/8\'\'. The weight is 3.4grams.

Condition: the bale looks like has had a repair in the past, there are three stones missing and two stones have been replaced at the past. The back of the pendant has hinged compartment but does not open.
