I am listing this week a collection of VERY RARE antiques and collectibles!This is one of the most beautiful compacts I\'ve ever had. Made circa late 1800\'s to early 1900\'s in Germany. Made of Sterling Silver. Hallmarked Made in Germany Sterling. The exterior is a beautiful blue enamel Guilloche design. Which is a carved silver body with enameling over it. The lid has a beautiful hand painted scene of 18th Century men and women in what appears to be a garden or similar. The border around that is carved under the enamel with roses & then there is gold scrolls around the scene. Simply breath taking. The interior has a great intact and clear mirror on the lid with a removable insert which you put your powder underneath and then on the insert. You can spin the lid for to various settings. It is truly a fantastic fine piece. The interior is gold gilt or wash on the silver. It measures approx. 2-1/4\" by 3/8\".
