Title: Antique Huge Japanese 1800s Imari Porcelain Charger Platter Phoenix Dragon Motif

Description: Huge 23.25” Japanese or Chinese Meiji 1800s or Earlier Imari Gilded Porcelain Charger Platter with Repeated Blue Phoenix Flaming Mandorla Dragons Pattern & Center Pair of Birds Medallion. This is an authentic antique piece of Asian porcelain, at least 150 years old, and possibly earlier. Though it is in the style of Japanese Imari, it features the double rings on the underside used by Chinese potters to encircle dynasty cartouches. In the present case, instead of Asian characters which would help us closer identify origins, we have only a jagged-edge, or “toothed” leaf maker’s mark, seldom seen. Condition: In very good condition for its advanced age. Shows its age in up to 5 scattered hairline cracks throughout, some with embedded grime, and all primarily visible more from underside.

Hallmarks: Though it is in the style of Japanese Imari, it features the double rings on the underside used by Chinese potters to encircle dynasty cartouches.
