An estate item from a longtime collector and musician. I personally do not play and do the best I can with his violin genre listings. Please do not hesitate with questions that I will post for all to see.

An obviously very old violin with a torn paper label...in the fotos you can see the tear. There is enough to make out Joannes Baptista Guadagni, (if all letters present it would say Guadagnini). fecit Parmaeand thenthe date, which is torn,it is handwritten 17__. It looks as if the last number is an 8, not completely sure.If you look at one of the fotos w the yellow paper, it demonstrates well the tear and I think the fotos are pretty good at showing the torn label.

True and authentic ivory pegs. Heavily grained. 14\" one piece back. True inlay, not an ink.

A well used violin with ageing and scratches...on top, near the end pin you will see a small hole from a previous installation. Note wood missing at top of scroll. Some varnish lifting in spots. Sound post was rolling around inside of violin and I will enclose that....again, sound post not installed.

Seller does not authenticate the age on this violin, merely stating what is onthe label and the obvious patina of age.
