This estate find is I believe a Karl Griesbaum mechanical whistler music box. The base is marked germany as well as the music box inside. The wood is carved into a figural cowboy. The music box measures 15 1/2\" tall x 5 7/8\" wide at the base. I do not have a key but used another to test it. It will wind but is missing a small part to make the head turn. The bellows appear to be intact but may need replacing as I cannot test the sound, no sound heard when the mechanism is on. . There is a large chip on the wood on his hat. A small chip on the wood at the base of his vest. a chip on the Spurs on one leg. Some surface scratches on a few small places. The original wood back cover is missing.
