Silver Plated Vase/Urn
Here we have for sale this unusual silver plated urn, which may have been some kind of trophy at one time, as it has a blank cartouche along with some decorative engraving, which is repeated on both sides of the urn. It has a pair of very Art Nouveau handles and a shaped rim, and is stamped underneath with a Fleur de Lys, the letters A B and two further marks, one of which is a calligraphy-like capital letter S. I have not been able to trace the maker from these marks, but with the style of the urn and the decoration, think it dates to around the turn of the century, up into the 1910s.
It is in very good condition, with no dents or damage, and with no visible wear to the silver plate. Some of the engraving is filled with the residue of old silver polish. The interior is in good condition, although with some tarnishing/surface corrosion at the very bottom which has pitted the silver plate.
It stands just under 6 inches high and just over 5 inches in diameter (around 7 inches including the handles) and would make a decorative planter or display piece.

NB. We no longer ship to Italy because of previous problems but if you ask, depending on the item, we may be able to arrange tracked delivery.
