Description: An exceptional, smaller-size Pennsylvania Stoneware Cake or Butter Crock with Cobalt decoration attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, ca.1870. Wheel-thrown, cylindrical form with squared rim and applied lug handles; upper body with a series of incised parallel lines. Decorated on both sides with similar horizontal Brushed Tulip Florals in bold Cobalt. Additional cobalt accents on each handle terminal with a wavy swag below. Shiny, Salt-Glazed exterior; Albany Slip interior.
Condition: Some minor rim chips and a shallow base flake, as shown; otherwise Very Good to Excellent with very strong color. Inherent glaze and firing imperfections noted for complete descriptive accuracy. No cracks, repaired damage, restoration work or other excuses. Displays brilliantly; highly-appropriate for any collection of Antique Stoneware or Americana.

Desirable size and decoration. Measures only 9-1/4"W x 4-1/2"H overall with a base diameter of 8". The inner and outer rim diameters are 7-1/4" and 8-1/2", respectively; weighs 4 lbs. 13oz.
