Fred A. Allen bluebill Drake 1838-1912Fred Allen was from Monmouth, Illinois. Not much is known about Allen\'s production of decoys. He did produce some mallards and bluebill. They are two piece hollow body construction. The bluebill I have for sale is a nice example of his work. Allen was also an inventor and invented what was called \"Allen\'s nickel plated duck caller\". It was made for private use as early as 1863. This decoy has old gunners repaint with some worn original feathering details on the back and tail. It has the original eyes and the body is in good condition structurally. Measurements are 11.5\" in length and 5.5\" in width and 5\" tall.
