BLACKDUCK DECOY - DRAKE DELAWARE RIVER - TWO RIVERS EXHIBITION & COMPETITION RICK BROWN - BRICK TOWNSHIP, NJ Fresh from the 3rd Annual Two Rivers Exhibition of Sporting Collectible Art and Competition held March 12, 2016 in Rumson, NJ, where it placed 1st in species, 2nd overall in the Puddle Duck category and all ribbons are included! This is a beautiful full size drake Blackduck decoy by Rick Brown, Brick Township, NJ. It is hand carved in the traditional Delaware River style from air-dried Jersey White Cedar with superb paint, detailed bill, raised primaries, fluted wings and tail, hollow bodied, high quality glass eyes, lead pad weight, leather thong, is signed, dated and measures approximately 16 1/2" in length, 6" in width, 6" in height and bears his personal copper ID tag. Rick was the founder and owner of Barnegat Bay Decoys which he started on the old Wildfowler Decoy Company site in the 70s. Though the company closed it's doors more than two decades ago, Rick continues to hand carve the competition quality decoys that have earned him hundreds of ribbons for more than a quarter of a century. His decoys are highly collectible and very much sought after. This is a beautiful life size decoy and some of his finest work! The ribbons will be included with the decoys.
