Very good condition and guaranteed original British Pattern1822 infantry officer sword. 32 ½” blade has original bright finish with somescattered brown and gray. Nice original engraving on both sides, with theVictorian cypher. No maker markings, right side of blade has star with “PROVED”silver inlay. Edge has a few small nicks. Brass fittings have nice originalgilt finish and attractive patina. Sword still has original leather coverinside the guard to protect the hand. Sharkskin covered grip shows some normalwear and has tight wire wrap. Fitted in correct original brass scabbard thathas beautiful color and a few small dings.
