This is an E.D. Racer Series III, which was manufactured in West London during the Mid 1950's.

The Series III version followed the Series II in 1953, andcontinued the use of Magnesium alloy for the main casting.It alsointroduced structural improvements which providedmore rigidsupport for the cylinder liner and main bearings.

This example appears tocarry the serial number RB 154 5 although this is somewhat indistinct. Compression is very strong, and the engine is in excellent working order.It hand startsinstantly after a couple of choked turns. It has been bench tested by the sellerwith a 9"x4" propeller and revs out very cleanly, with good speed control via the compression adjustment. General handling characteristics are in the Mills class.
