This is an ED 2.46 cc Racer series IVdiesel, as manufactured from the mid 1950\'s onwards. The series IV Racerfeatured analuminium alloy main castingwhich replaced themagnesium crankcaseused onthe earlier series III version.The specification includes a counter-balanced crankshaft, carried intwin ball races, and reardisc valve induction.
This example is in good working order with very strong compression. It starts very easily and revs out cleanly on a 9\" x 6\" propeller. The red anodising is unmarked.
