Extremely Rare Brown Jade Chinese Ritual Xuanji with Provenance.
The following is a very rare and antique Chinese Ritual Xuanji from the Neolithic Period, complete with its box and provenance from J.Wayne Taylor sale House where it is titled as a Chinese Astrological Disc.
The disc consists of three deeply cut notches forming three arcs, each set with a pair of three-pronged teeth, finely incised on one side with two horizontal lines and one diagonal line, the stone of rich brown color withchestnut-like color patches of calcification to the surface
These pieces are actually very rare to come across due to their age and their shape,they are a very unique asian art and very interesting in their details from the pronged like details around the edges to how neatly they are cut.
With research,the only one of these beautiful historical chinese xuanjis I came across sold for 75,000$ in a famous sale house after being estimated for 80,000-100,000$
The Xuanji was as well inspected by two experts that confirmed the region and age of this item at its time at the sale house.
The Xuanji is in good condition however it is repaired in 4 different spots as you can see in the pictures and has 3 chips near the restorations.
The Xuanji measures 9 1/2\" in diameter.
