Description
Offered to the highest buyer is this fine old full size violin.The back measures 14 3/16\", full length 23 1/4\".The violin is constructed of select wood throughout, with a nice evenly flames single piece maple back, matching rib set, nicely flamedmaple neck, and an evenly fine grained spruce top. The finish is amber with deep red shading. There is no label to indicate origin or age.The scroll has detailed floral carvings on the back and cheeks. There is an old well repaired crack in the belly near the soundpost, and a newsoundpost patch has been properly chalk fit. The lower left tip of the c bought has a well executed repair.The interior of the violin is well made, fully lined and blocked, top finished smooth and a bass barproperly fit and finished. The instrument has been freshly fit with ebony fittings and set up with perlon core strings, but you shouldhave your favorite strings installed and the violin readjusted after shipping before assessing the tone for yourself.

Here I am offering a very nice early to mid 1900\'s full size violin. The wood is just beautiful, in particular the back, carved of a single piece of nicely flamed maple.The violin shows signs of wear in a few places, mainly small chips in the finish, as can be seen in the photographs below. The arching is a bit fatter than the averageStrad copy, giving the bass a nice rich tone. This instrument is very responsive, and a huge sound can be drawn out with little effort. I would describe the tone as sweet, simpleand sustained, very even across all the strings.The scroll is nicely carved with a delicate floral pattern, giving this violin some unique character. Returns
