This is a fine vintage, beautifully hand-carved shell cameo ring set in 925 sterling silver, size 7¾. I believe it dates back to the 1960s or so. The cameo itself is channel-set into a sterling silver bezel which is actually part of the ring in front. You see the left-facing profile of a lovely young woman with a wide-open eye and a very elaborate curly and wavy hair-do. The brooch is signed 925on the underside, followed by several hallmarks that I cannot make out(see last photo included with this listing).
The front of the ring, cameo and setting, measures just over¾\" down by about⅝\"across - and - and the shell cameo is about⅝\" down by½\" across. Thehand-carving on this is really beautiful, very well executed. The lady\'s eye, nose, and mouth REALLY LOOK LIKE an eye, nose, and mouth. Overall condition isEXCELLENT. You seeNO damage or anything else wrong.
NOTE:The photos with an orange background were taken outside in natural sunlight. All other photos were taken indoors under halogen lights.
