Genuine Confederate Richmond Grays Buckle Breast Plate
Price: US $2247.00
This is an authentic, genuine Confederate Richmond Grays breast plate or buckle. It has been in my family for at least four generations of Richmonders. My father's grandfather gave it to him and my father gave it to me. Since I am not a Civil War memorabilia collector (I collect old model airplane engines) I have decided to offer it to the highest buyer. I have provided several clear photos of this item, but if there is a detail you need to see better I can provide more images. So, please study the photos closely and ask me any questions before offerding.I rarely set reserve prices for my sales, but because of the nature of this object and its value I have done so in this case.I will only ship this item with insurance covered by the buyer. I am also totally willing to use 's recommended escrow service - escrow.com - if PayPal does not suit the buyer. Finally, I encourage you to read through my response. I am very serious about honesty and the accurate representation of the items I sell.Thank you and good luck!

At the request of interested buyers I am adding an additional photo, of which I own the original print, and the following information from my father's papers. The photo is of my father's great grandfather on his maternal side. His name was Lebbius A. Timberlake. He is posing with his wife Willeta Austen Jones.
Timberlake enlisted on Aug. 6, 1861 in the 56th Virginia Infantry. He was promoted to First Lieutenant in September. He then resigned from the Infantry on October 26th and joined the Cavalry. He served with the 24th Virginia Cavalry that was involved in the defense of Richmond.
He survived the war. He apparently had two brothers who also fought, but I have no info on them.
His daughter, Irene Timberlake (1866 -1936) was my father's grandmother. Here husband - my father's grandfather - gave my dad the breast plate.I do not know if Timberlake owned the breast plate, but it was his son - Irene's husband - my father's grandfather - who gave it to my father.Thank you for your interest and good luck offerding!

A couple of corrections to the family info above:It was my father's paternal grandfather, not maternal, and it should read Timberlake's son-in-law, not son, who gave the plate to my father.
All of this info is from my father's genealogy project. Although he was diligent in collecting family data, I cannot guarantee every detail to be completely accurate.Thank you.
