This is a German school dagger. Cross guards: tang nut is aluminum , both upper and lower are aluminum, upper is marked on the inside with Sj (German 1), lower is internally marked with a dot and Sj (German 1), lower is school marked for the Stuhm school.
Blade: the blade is a type one Burgsmuller, it has no tang marks.
Grip: the grip was treated with a bees wax as it was apparently stored in contact with sunlight a very dry.
Scabbard: the scabbard frog lug is marked ( stamped) 753H, it looks to have been repainted.
