DescriptionOffered for your collecting pleasure the mint stoneware 1/2 liter stein that belonged to Gefreiter,or Private 1st class Ranmund Blener. This reservist served in the Royal Bavarian Railway Battalion 2nd Company from 1903-1905 garrisoned in Munich. This mint stein shows a large bridge over which an engine is pushing a string of railway cars in the upper left hand picture. The middle panel shows three reservists out in the countryside in an open touring car. Pictures of this nature are rare. The bottom left hand scene shows a group of Pioneers working on a fully loaded train sitting on a bridge across the Isar River. The center scene shows a dressed out reservist standing next to the unit epaulet above a winged wheel. The right panel shows the garrison barracks. Below, Pioneers constructing a bridge. The roster is clear and bright with no fading, whatsoever. The pewter lid is perfect in every respect with the city of Munich in heavy relief. The strap is tight to the handle with no movement. The thumb lift is winged wheel, very appropriate. The inside of the lid is mirror bright. Don\'t miss the opportunity to own as fine an example of an Eisenbahn as you will find. This stein is almost 110 years old and it looks like it was made yesterday.
