This is a classic Illinois River decoy. I would say from the 20\'s - 30\'s, possibly 10\'s. As you can see the back is wonderful w/ some excellent back end of the brush paint sculpting/gouging, ala Katherine Elliston. The surface is solid with no flaking of paint. The head has a full 90 degrees of twist to it, but it does not come off/out. No glue from me, the winner can glue if they want. The head is very nice quality, but the eyes have a bugged out look to them. I thought they might be replacements, but I don\'t see signs of it. I\'ll post if corrected. The weight might be able to tell you savy ones who the carver is. Check out the pics, it is unique being on-end like that. The seam appears solid, but there are 2 finishing nails on the top back by the butt end.
