Very good condition and guaranteed original Imperial GermanForestry hunting knife / Hirschfanger. This classic piece is maker marked toWEYERSBERG KIRSCHBAUM on the left side of the blade. Dagger measures 18 ¼” longoverall with a 12 ¼” blade. Blade has original bright finish with somescattered brown and has been sharpened. Still has original green felt washer atthe base. Guard and ferrule have original blue metal finish turning plum brown.Antler grip has beautiful color and no damage. Knife has an original perioddress knot attached which may be for Baden or Wurttemberg. Knot shows some wearand fraying and one or two tears. Fitted in correct original leather scabbardthat has steel throat and tip. Leather is soft and supple with some normalwear, stitching and staples are nice and tight. A great German hunting daggerthat will make an excellent addition to your collection.
