The Battle of Loos was the largest British offensive mounted in 1915 on the Western Front during World War I. The first British use of poison gas occurred and the battle was the first mass engagement of New Army units. The British offensive was part of the attempt by the French to break through the German defences in Artois and Champagne and restore a war of movement. Despite improved methods, more ammunition and better equipment the Franco-British attacks were contained by the German armies, except for local losses of ground. Casualties in the Herbstschlacht (Autumn Battle) were high on both sides.

You can see the really nice and unique patina of the cross on the pictures shown below. Something i personally think is quite interesting, is the unique engraving on the backside of this cross. I think this is rare and unique cross was made for collection purposes.
It is a good alternative for the the even more rare and very pricey original.
This is the best you can on marked today. and later of Germany, which was established by King Friedrich Wilhelm III of Prussia and first awarded

on 10 March 1813 in Breslau. In addition to during the Napoleonic Wars, the Iron Cross was awarded

during the Franco-German War,the First World War, and the Second World War.
