I liked this muzzle compensator so much that this is the second one I've purchased to put on another one of my AR Pistols / SBR. The aesthetics of this comp used to bother me a bit, with it's "futuristic" design, but after firing the first round through it on my 8" AR pistol it quickly no longer became a factor. This thing works so well and reducing the "bucking" muzzle rise and intense recoil typically felt on short barrel AR's. After replaying a slowmotion video we captured and analyzing the muzzle rise and recoil, you only feel about a 2-3 inch recoil and around 1/4 - 3/8 of an inch in muzzle rise. All in all, this Strike Industries cookie cutter comp is outstanding! The machining is very well executed and you can't beat the price for this muzzle device's effectiveness. Simply put, it does exactly what any short barrel AR needs to be precise and persistent.Read full review

It looks great when mounted flush with a free float tube. But I can't tell much difference in felt recoil between the cookie cutter brake and the A-2 flash hider I installed in place of the cookie cutter. If your rifle is chambered for 5.56/.223 I would be more concerned with controing muzzle flash than recoil mitigation. The standard A-2 flash hider (which is less than $10) is only bested by a select few in flash suppression (that cost $50-$100+) and it is only by a narrow margin. Back to the cookie cutter though, the main reason I took it off was because of the weight. Half a pound on the tip of my muzzle made the gun feel about 2 pounds heavier. I prefer lightweight effective products to having points for looking cool (lesson learned). It is well made, but for me it was a waste of money.Read full review

if you want something different and you have full rail that extends the whole length of the barrel, this will really look good. my rail is 15" on a cali legal LE6920- it didnt look good. a 16.5 rail will complete this look. as far a functionality, i feel that a 3 slot brake performs a tad better- this is splitting hairs since a 556/223 isnt really a heavy recoil gun. also, one crush washer will stop the brake with the logo in the bottom- and i dont want to add more washers to add more weight- this is the main reason i gave it 4 stars.

High quality piece of equipment. Not for the lightweight build this muzzle device has the weight and profile of a small ram. I wouldn't use it to knock down doors but it will be an added line of defense. Shipped and received promptly. I love it.

Now I haven't had much experience with trying different muzzle brakes but compared to the original that came on my rifle this one takes the cake. Great quality, arrived quickly and fit perfectly.
