This sale is for a beautiful Fairy Light/ Fairy Lamp made in white satin glass AND a matching white satin glass clock, both part of the limited and numbered “Cardinal in the Churchyard” Birds of Winter collection!
The lamp features a beautiful scene of a cardinal in the foreground with a church in the background. Beautiful details, with crushed glass fired on making permanent glittering snow. This series was introduced in 1987 with the Cardinals in the Churchyard. It was designed by Fenton artist and designer Diane Johnson. The design is all hand painted.
This is a limited edition fairy light, #1089 of 4500 and hand numbered on the back of the top. The back contains a poem about the cardinal. The top of this fairy light has the artist's signature, Debra Cutshaw. Both pieces of the Fairy Lamp are in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, stains or flea bites. The fairy light or lamp is about 5 inches tall and has the original Fenton sticker inside the lamp shade.
The Fenton clock is a FIRST EDITION piece from the BIRDS OF WINTER series. This piece was handpainted and signed by J. Stevens. It is number 922 of only 1500 made. It features a hand-painted lovely cardinal perched on a holly bough with shimmering snow all around. There is a quaint country church in the background. All of this set against a white satin glass backdrop.This clock has its original Fenton stickers. It is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, stains, etc. It measures about 6 inches tall and 4 inches wide at the base.
The backsides of the lamp and the clock have the following verse written: Scarlet songster, crimson crested, sing "What cheeo" and light my heart. This was written by Elsa Thompson.
