FIrst, let me say sorry for my lack of any type of Train knowledge. I really know nothing about trains. So i you have a question, pleasekeep that in mind.
1930\'s Lionel Standard Gauge 400E Locomotive & TenderFrom what i see there is no repaints.I don\'t know if this is importantbut, there seems to be a hole in the cab of the engine wherea switch may go, I see no knob for a switch, but perhaps that isimportant. I have no idea how to test if the train works. But it camefrom a large collection of trains, and has been well cared for.I took extra pics, so please look below.

A nice er was nice enough to tell me what the hole inside the cab may be.
This is what he thinks. \'The hole is a switch slot. It was probably to lock the train movement in one direction. It was wired into the E-unit. The switch lever is probably behind the wall or was removed, modified,ect,\'
Thanks for the Much Needed Info.
