We are offering today for your offerding pleasure, an early \'20\'s Martin 2K soprano uke, made of figured Koa wood.
A uke of great beauty and patina, it nonetheless has a few cracks, all un-repaired. One crack is on the top, between the bridge and the sound-hole, 3 or 4 cracks on the back. Looks like the cause of these cracks was a bout of low humidity in the distant past, rather than damage from ill-treatment or accident. There is also playing wear and typical dings and scratches from a lifetime of use. One interesting feature is that the wood on the top and the back seem to be \'book-matched\' and cut from the same board.
Tuners are old, but possibly not original. This uke is tuned up and plays great, but the wise one would attend to the open cracks before departing on a new Hawaiian Music career. Included is a nice, period chipboard case.
This uke is offered on a \'no returns\' basis, but if we have grossly misrepresented it, we will take it back.
