!!!Fresh from a Maine home, wearepleased to offer this ORIGINAL U.S.Regulation 1887 pattern Anson Mills Spanish American War era cartridge belt plate.
This pattern is plate number 954 (page 567) in the book "American Military Belt Plates" by Michael J. O\'Donnell & J. Duncan Campbell. The book notes this plate as having extensive militia use into the early 20th century.
The two-piece H-style plate features "U.S." inside an oval. The rolled tongue is marked "ANSON MILLS FEB. 1 PAT, 1881 - T.C. ORNDORFF SOLE MANF. WORCESTER MASS." and both of the belt\'s brass slides are marked "Pat. Mills & Orndorff - Aug. 26, 67 - July 31, 77 - Dec. 28, 80 - Mar. 19, 89 - Oct. 31, 93 - Sept. 11, 94". The belt plate is COMPLETE with it original keeper and is being sold with its ORIGINAL blue woven canvas single row 45-70 ammo belt. The belt is designed to hold 45 rounds, It measures 3\'\' wide and is 32 3/4\'\' in total length. The plate measures 72mm x 80mm.
CONDITION: Both the plate and belt are in EXCELLENT ORIGINAL condition. The plate show very minor age wear and the belt has a few minor frayed loops. Please review our photos, as they fairly represent the overall condition well.GUARANTEED HONEST, OLD AND MARKET FRESH!!!
