The Model 1913 sword measures 42 1/2 inches in length and was made by Landers, Frary & Clark with a 1918 date. This model was actually designed by Gen. Patton for a more modern style of fighting for the cavalry.
There is no scabbard for this sword, and this sword has been in 1-families possession since it was brought home from WW1 by a local Veteran. At some point in the distant past, and my bet is sometime in the 1930's or so, this was painted completely flat black. The paint has an old surface on it now, and some of it has worn with age. No bends, dents or dings to the cutting edge, but a crack to one of the scales as pictured.
