Up for sale is this Ningyo Musha / Japanese Samurai doll. He \"stands\" at about 8 1/2 inches from his fully extended leg to the top of his head. His head and feet are of gofun, and his hands are of painted wood. The chest and back plates of his armor are metal ( tin I think ), while his remaining plate mail is pressed paper. His sword unsheathes to reveal a blade, and his clothing is of brocade silk. His eyes are glass and his hair is mohair. This ningyo has a circa date of around 1930-1940 at the latest and is NOT a post war Musha Ningyo.There are some condition issues that need addressing. The first is the obvious lack of a stand for him. Traditionally he wood be mounted on a wood platform or diorama .The second issue is the hairline crack to his gofun face, which travels from his left cheek down to his mouth area ( see pics ).The fixed rate for shipping is for buyers within the United States.
