sale for aJoe King, Manahawkin, New JerseyCurlew Shorebird decoy circa 1870\'s. It is in working paint with an oldcoat of varnish. It has tack eyes and bill whichseems to be original. You look at the pictures and make your own determination. It has various rubs and numerous shot marks. This was a actual working decoy. Purchased at a Guyette and Deeter sale years ago, so guaranteed to be authentic.

If someone is curious as to why the paint is more worn on the port (right) sidethan on the other. This is usually an indication that it was probably stored on that particular side on a shelf, possibly in a hunting shack. Over time, the one side tends to show more wear marks than the other. As Paul Harvey would say,\"andI now you know the rest of the story\". Just thought I\'d throw that in there. Good luck with your offerding!
