Price: US $31.00
This lovely Ohio Art Blue Willow Tin-Litho Tea Set from the 1950\'s is in very good collectible condition. I have had it out as a center piece on the table for some time and it is always a conversation starter. Everyone loves it. It displays very well and brings back fond memories. The tea pot has some oxidation on the tip of the spout and there is minor wear on one of the plates. Please see the photos for further information on condition.Where Did This Come From?
A young couple moved into a home in Schenectady, NY in 1936 and started a family. He was a machinist at General Electric and became a Senior Tool Designer during World War II designing and creating the very vintage items sought after by collectors today. She also worked at GE during WWII making machine gunner stations for battle ships. Yes, she was a Rosie the Riveter! They raised their kids through the 1950\'s until they left home for college in 1964 and 1965. At this time the mother fastidiously packed up all of the kids toys and placed them into a small closed off section in the attic where they have stayed ever since, forgotten over time. The machinist stayed with GE until his sudden death in 1965. At that time his home shop just stopped and all of his belongings stayed where they were slowly being covered by the following 48 years of her life in which she was a seamstress and a lab tester. She truly was a \"saver\". It was an art form for her.The estate sales have come and gone and all that was left were the places nobody wanted to go or even new were there. It was clear that the best of the collection they had left for their family had been completely overlooked. That is when I (the husband of the grand-daughter) began my work. I new there had been wonderful treasures that had already gone out into the world. But I also new there was a ton of great stuff still here. So I went back into the darkened corners and hidden places and have brought all of this out for you to enjoy once again. There are some genuine rarities along with the more common collectibles and some stuff that is just cool. You may want to \"follow\" us as there will be a lot.
