This sale is for an old violin with inlays on the back, as pictured.
Description: This is a full-size violin measuring 23\" long overall, 14\" body length and 8 1/8\" wide at the widest point. The top is spruce; the back, sides and neck are maple and the fingerboard is ebony. The pegs are of mixed types of wood. There is no purfling. There is an illegible handwritten label inside.
The back of the violin is decorated with a central medallion made of inlays of mother-of-pearl, purfling and other materials.
Condition: This violin needs work to be made playable. The only crack in the woodis at the lower wing of the bass F hole. There are some unglued seams. The pegs are mismatched and might need to be replaced. The sound post is standing up in position. The violin needs nut, bridge, strings, tail piece, chin rest, etc. to be made playable. Severalpieces of mother-of-pearl inlayare missing from thedecoration on the back. The body of the violin has been refinished. The scroll retains the original varnish. There is no case or bow.
This violin is not playable. Therefore it is being sold as-is for a repair project or decorative object with no return option. Please offer accordingly.
