Upforyourconsiderationisan old Italian violin made in the year of 1852 by Francesco Maurizi (1816 - 1903).

This is a full size violin, and itbears an old label that reads:

Franciscus Maurizi

Appineanensis fecit 1852

Francesco Maurizi was almost an entirely self-taught violin maker, and alternated his violin making practice with farming. The rustic nature of his work is tempered with stylistic consistency and care. Some of Maurizi\'s work was mistakenly attributed to much earlier Milanese makers of the 18th century, in part because of the tendency of the varnish and wood to show early signs of wear.

This violin do not have any cracks and is in good condition overall, with normal wear commensurate with its age. It is playable in its current condition.
