*18th Century Old Fine Violin *Powerful *Grafted Italian Labelled: Domenico Montagnana
This beautiful 18th Century violin has an amazing powerful seasoned tone. The violin tone is very resonant, warm and full of life. It is a concert level instrument. It is most defiantly from the 1700\'s in craftsmanship. The scroll is grafted. The violin has many repairs to its approx. 300 years of existence. The back is a beautiful 2 piece with a ebony crowned heel. The repaired cracks to the back are very stable and actually do not touch the sound post. There is a tiny pin on the heel of the neck about the diameter of a tooth pick. The violin has a beautiful scroll with a repaired cheek, and one of the turn eyelits. Repairs to purfling upper bout and small fingerboard angle repair wedges. The violin feels excellent in the left hand on the neck. It is setup with ebony fittings and a fine tuner to the E. The violin is very stable and ready to play. The violin has a repair label from NJ around 1935. The instrument is extremely light weight and easy to play. The string action is very low and easy to play. I am not sure of the violin authenticity, but I can say it is from the 1700\'s in my opinion and worth several thousand in my old shop. The violin is shipped in an old case for protection.Labelled:
