Offered here for sale are prehistoricIndian pottery shards recovered on a private ranch near St John’s,Arizona.  

The pieces were found as surface finds which isfairly common in that area.  They are the product of inhabitants wholived in that area 800 to 1,000 years ago.  

Several are painted withdesigns associated with the Anasazi and the shards are of varioussizes, shapes and textures. 

 The quarter in the photo givesyou an idea of their size.  The pieces are loose for mounting orframing as you choose.

All pieces are guaranteed authentic andwere legally recovered on private land withpermission.  The items in this listing comply with federal andstate laws.      

Native American tribes living in theSouthwest—in what became Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, and Colorado—didn’tmake pottery until around A.D. 100, although they were likely aware of thetechniques used in Mexico and South America. As they were nomadic hunters andgatherers, it didn’t make sense for them to lug around heavy pots.
