This beautiful very rare Japanese 4900 Schoenau & Hoffmeister doll is a true treasure from a bygone era. She was made in the year 1884 and is in very goodconditionfor her age. Hardly ever will you find a doll of this age in this good ofcondition. Also in all my years of antique doll collecting, I have never seen another 4900 Japanese Schoenau & Hoffmeister doll, she isextremely rare and hard to find, thus making her verydesirableamong serious antique doll collectors for her rarity and beauty. Her face is exceptionally beautiful with wonderful facial coloring. She stands a nice size of 18 inches tall. She is wearing a verybeautiful mohair wig. She is free of any chips, cracks, hairlines or damage. She has nice paperweight eyes. Her body is fully jointedcomposition and wonderful for posing. What makes her even more special is that she is wearing her original Kimono and shoes. Her Kimono is sewn on and very fragile as there is some fraying on the sleeve as you can see from the photo. I did not fully remove her clothes as I do not want to damage her lovely Kimono. I can see under her clothes though and her body is also in very goodcondition. I added the flower hairadornmentas it looks very pretty on her. This doll is for the serious antique doll collector for you will know just how rare and hard to find this beauty is.
