This is a stunningly super rare antique Georgian Lover\'s Eye miniature, beautifully painted on a panel, depicts a young lady\'s beautiful right eye, the iris is of a pale color, light blue or light golden.The painting is housed in a 9k rose gold frame under a crystal cover into an exquisite little lace brooch, the frame is hand faceted over the edge, further decorated by a rim of yellow gold rope frame a bit inside. All in great shape especially consider its over 200 years of age.The brooch measures approx. 1 inch by 3/4 inches, the pin back and pin catch are all original (which is also rare) and in good working order, the back of the brooch inscribed “S.King born 13th, Feb. y 1799”.For a very brief period around 1800\'s, a lover\'s eye miniature would be given as a gift of love and affection, it is to be worn and admired without revealing the loved one\'s identity.
