This finely rendered lover\'s eye is bordered by flat cut garnets, typical of the Georgian period. A very light blue hue surrounds the eye toward the edges of the portrait, not very visible with the flash photography. The reverse side is inscribed: \"EFH, 1st July 1820.\"Thin lines are visible on the reverse where the item was tested to see if it was plated or pure gold. This was commonly done in the Georgian/Victorian era and is part of the item\'s history. The pin fastener appears correct and original.
