Here are a pair of sterling silver “whirling logs or swastika” conchos. Size- about 1 1/8+” with a 3/4” loop . The back loop will fit a single layer of 8 oz. harness leather, made for spur straps I think--- also will fit on a hatband. Indians of the Southwest haveused the symbol for centuries. It was commonly used to decoratebaskets, pottery and later jewelry and rugs. Most Indians called thesymbol “whirling logs” and considered the shape to bring good fortune.The Navajo referred to the symbol as “nohokos”.The design was widelyrecognized by westerners simply as “Indian good luck”.All types of Cowboy gear were decorated with the swastika up until WWII.
