DESCRIPTION Fort Knox Antiquities is very pleased to offer this Native American, Reserve Black-on-White Pitcher, Mogollon 1030 AD - 1200 AD, often called Anasazi. This boldly painted black on white pitcher is delicately potted with well-done horizontal bands at the base and towards the shoulder. These lines frame the diagonal hatches that are so well associated with the Reserve style. The tall neck is decorated with dot and circles, a representation of corn. The intact handle has three butterfly designs painted on it. A beautiful piece in excellent condition. Provenance: Originally acquired Sotheby’s New York City in the 1960’s, then called Parke-Benet sales. The pitcher remains in as found condition, completely intact with no repairs and no restoration. One very small, pea sized chip at the rim. All pieces guaranteed as stated. The pitcher measures 4.25 inches tall and 3.5 inches in diameter.
