SCARCE WWII FAIRBAIRN SYKES F-S 2ND PATTERN COMMANDO STILETTO KNIFE EXCELLENT
Price: US $455.00

Presented for thecollector of WWII combat knives or one specializing in material associated with elite formations is this outstanding specimen of the vaunted 2nd Pattern Fairbairn-Sykes commando stiletto. This stiletto has a blade approximately 6 5/8 inches long. This appears to be the original length as I don\'t see any deviation from the lines of the blade indicating that it was tipped or reground. There is some scabbard wear at the point. The blade retains a conservative 90% + of the original bluing and has never been sharpened. The interior of the guard is marked with the \"broad arrow B2\" mark on one side and \"ENGLAND\" on the other. The checkered bronze grip retains a conservative 90% + of the original finish and is tight. The pommel nut has never been turned. The scabbard is excellent and in much better condition than normally encountered. It retains the blackened brass chape and both tabs on the rear of the backstitched scabbard. Theelastic band is present, but is broken as is common on just about every specimen I have encountered. The leather retains its dark brown finish and is still supple. This 2nd pattern F-S stilletto would compliment any collection of WWII combat knives, airborne, or special operations ephemera. ! Please see my other listings for items which may interest you. Good luck!
