From our own collection we offer this gorgeous SHAWNEE ELEPHANT teapot. This is the hard to find white version with hand-painted details. This teapot can be seen pictured on page 101 in Pam Curran\'s book, Shawnee Pottery, The Full Encyclopedia.
CONDITION: This teapot is in excellent condition and I can find no chips, cracks, hairlines, fleabites, or repairs. There is some light brown staining on the dry rim areas of the lid and opening of the base. There is some light brown staining in the bottom inside of the base from use.
PRODUCTION FLAWS: On the left tusk, the green glaze separated during the firing process at the factory and did not entirely adhere to the tusk (see last picture). There is some peppering in the glaze in the interior of the base. This is caused by impurities in the pottery mix that rise to the top during firing.
HEIGHT and MARK: The teapot measures 6 1/2 inches tall and is correctly inscribe marked, \"USA\". As with all pieces we sell from our collection, this teapot is guaranteed to be authentic Shawnee pottery.
